I created this website to keep parents/guardians informed and my students engaged. This website is updated weekly.  

Parents- Please make sure to:

  • Check focus weekly to stay informed about grades 

  • Review Nicky Folder daily and work sent home

  • Review homework assignments with your child

  • Encourage daily reading to increase stamina

  • Reading comprehension is essential for ALL subjects!

Class Schedule

 

Our school day starts at 8:30 AM and ends at 2:55 PM. Students learn best when they are present for all parts of the school day.  Please look below at our schedule. Thank you in advance for honoring our time with your child.

Weekly:

Fluency- continue to practice and memorize multiplication facts 1x1 up to  10x10. In random order, be able to answer 20 facts in one minute.

OneView 

A communication, collaboration, and content management tool designed to empower members of the Duval County Public Schools communityby providing personalized access to important data, resources, and services.

 

DCPS teachers, students, administrators, and staff access OneView using their district username/password. 
Parents/Guardians & Community Partners must create a DCPS account if they have not already done so. 

Parents and students can check grades and stay informed before progress and report card time. This is a great way to see missing assignments so they can be turned in for credit.

Gradebook is updated weekly.

Students should use their DCPS username/password to login for Achieve 3000 and Freckle 

Announcements and Updates

Grade book assignments are based on points.

Each subject will contain the following categories

Math

Assessments- (mid & end of module test, multiplication fluency & topic quizzes)

 

Classwork- (problem sets, centers, exit tickets, and other independent assignments)

Science

Assessments- (benchmark assessments and vocabulary)

 

Classwork- (independent assignments and labs)

 

Grades: 

A= 100-90%

B= 89 - 80%

C= 79 - 70%

D= 69-60%

F= 59- 0% 

Home Learning Policy (HW)
 
  • Home Learning is optional but highly recommended
  • HW is assigned daily, with the exception of some Fridays. 
  • I will give feedback when correcting papers. 
  • After every five assignments completed and turned in students will be awarded with a visit to the prize box. 

Students of DCPS have a contract with Microsoft for a license to use Microsoft office 365 products. You will need your child's username and password.

Week of October 18, 2021: Bullying Prevention Week.
 
We will be using themed days to bring awareness, engage students, and keep the focus on bullying prevention. There is an attachment on the Field Guide email today for a snapshot of our week, and the theme days are integrated into our weekly calendar.
