MOdule 7

Module 6- Students will interpret data and construct picture graphs, bar graphs, and line plots. Students will analyze data displayed in various graphs to solve one and two step word problems. Student will apply knowledge of fractions from the previous module to measure items to nearest one-half and one-fourth inch. Students will create and analyze and solve word problems using line plots and fraction measurements. 

 

Module 7: Students will build on grade 2 ideas about polygons as a closed figure with three or more sides. Students will continue to build and deepen understanding of quadrilaterals by classifying, comparing, and contrasting attributes of 4 sided shapes. Those shapes include: square, rectangle, rhombus, parallelogram, and trapezoid. Students will learn about perimeter and deepen their understanding about Area. Before FSA and after FSA Module 7 also includes a problem solving approach to review all tested skills. The last 2 weeks of school I will include enrichment lessons to help students preview skills for Grade 4 by making connections with skills learned this year. 

Students are encouraged to take their math journal home. However, it is their responsibility to bring it back the next day for class assignments.
